Why Testing is Important - CCCA Finds High Failure Rate in Electrical Performance of Category 6 Patch Cords (85% Fail)

With a significant reduction in cable diameter (.150" nominal OD) and weight, Slim 6 U/UTP Patch Cords
doubles the amount of cords that can be be routed through cable managers and pathways. In addition, their smaller size allows for improved airflow and cooling resulting in lower operating costs than traditional Category 6 patch cords. The Slim 6 design directly integrates with the recommended TIA-942 structured cabling standard and can be used in applications up to 20 feet in length.

Note: These patch cords utilize 28 AWG conductors which do not meet the 22 to 26 AWG conductor size of patch cable referenced in ANSI/TIA-568.2-D, resulting in an increased attenuation de-rating value of 1.9. Supports 96 meter channels that include 90 meter permanent links. Supports 93 meter channels with 10 meters of patch cords included in the channel.
