NEW COMPLIANCE ISSUE
RJ45s made with 94V-2 Material instead of the UL Standard 94V-0 Material
ARE NOT UL APPROVED and DO NOT MEET TIA-568 and IEC 60603 Standards

CAVEAT EMPTOR.....Let The Buyer Beware
THERE IS A DISTURBING TREND OF MODULAR PLUGS AND JACKS NOT MEETING SPECIFICATIONS PUT FORTH BY THE TIA, UL, IEC AND FCC CAUSING SIGNAL INTEGRITY ISSUES
THE NEWEST PROBLEM
RJ45s Made with 94V-2 Material
Violates UL, NFPA and NEC Standards That Calls Out 94V-0 Material
Non-Compliant with TIA-568 and IEC 60603 Specs

94V-2 Material fails to meet applicable fire- and flame-resistance standards established by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the National Electric Code (NEC). These STANDARDS call out a polycarbonate material meeting UL's FLAMMABILITY RATING THAT AUTO EXTINGUISHES.....94V-0 RATED. This material will self extinguish during the prescribed time allowed by UL. The majority of 94V-2 material problems are associated with Off-Shore manufacturers.....why.....because it is a cheaper compound.

Modular Plugs and Jacks (RJ11, RJ12 and RJ45) made from 94V-2 material DO NOT COMPLY WITH:
*  UL STANDARDS for Communications-Circuit Accessories - Component
*  NFPA and NEC Standards
*  TIA-568 Specifications
*  IEC 60603 Specifications

POTENTIAL CONTRACTOR LIABILITY ISSUES - Taken from the CCCA Web Site

The Communications Cable and Connectivity Association (“CCCA”) has found that certain imported communications cable does not comply with National Electrical Code (“NEC”) standards. Contractors that install this noncompliant cable, whether known to the contractor or not, may be exposed to liability for violating applicable building codes and in civil lawsuits for damages caused by the installation of noncompliant cable. Background about this issue and an overview of potential liability are provided herein.

The same reasoning pertains to RJ45 plugs found in cable assemblies (patch cords) used in TIA-568 and IEC 60603 applications.
